My mothers first night on this ward she was pulled about by her arms which hurt her, told to wipe her own bottom when she has no left side movement made to sit up the bed by herself, when I was on the phone and asked for the nurses name in question I was told her name was forgot, disgusting treatment for a elderly patient whose had a stroke

Dear Ms Butler

Thank you for raising your concerns about your mother's care and treatment when she was admitted to Moseley Hall Hospital. I am very sad to read about the lack of care and compassion you have described, and for the lack of support you received from a nurse when you called the ward.

In order to address this matter with the staff concerned, it would be really helpful to know more detail (your mother's name, date of admission, if she is able to describe the nurse involved). Please do contact me at your earliest convenience by email Alison.last@bhamcommunity.nhs.uk or phone 0121 466 7128 and I will be pleased to listen to the experience in more detail.

If you prefer, you may wish to request a meeting with the Team Leader and / or the Matron for the ward, and for this you would speak to any member of the ward team, or phone 0800 917 2855

I look forward to hearing from you at your convenience, and hope the remainder of your mother's admission is a more positive experience than the first 24 hours.

With kind regards

Mother-in-law has COPD & is well cared for

My mother-in-law lives in sheltered housing. She has chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and the GP has arranged domiciliary respiratory care via Moseley Hall Hospital. Her COPD is being well managed and she has not been to hospital this year. She has an emergency pack at home which has allowed her take control of the COPD and manage the symptoms. She sees the same nurse on a regular basis - they have a good relationship. She can call the nurse if she needs to between the visits.

Thank you for your comments, and it is lovely to read how well your mother in law's respiratory health has been looked after. The community teams work hard to support patients to remain at home whenever possible, and to make a difference to the lives of people living with long term conditions such as COPD.

I am sorry for not responding sooner but your comments have only just been brought to my attention. I will make sure your feedback is passed on to the team immediately.

Thank you again for taking time to leave your feedback.

Kind regards

Regular patient at assessment and treatment. Staff are friendly and caring. Always seen on time. They really care and if you are unable to attend because of illness etc they call to see how you are. I even had a sympathy card after a bereavement

Incontinence team - keep ordering pads to suit themselves and not what I need. I think if would be really good if people that use services like incontinence pads or specialist equipment should rate the service and staff. An independent survey should be done regarding long term service which are being used.
