NHS 111 provide a very good service. I contacted them when I was unable to get a GP appointment for a number of days. The operator goes through a series of detailed questions and really listens. They were able to assist me by facilitating a GP appointment at Solihull Urgent Treatment Centre. I was very satisfied with the service provided.
Sent me to A&E who turned me away

I called NHS 111 for help and advice about a problem with my eyes, explaining to them that I have a severe eye condition and am severely visually impaired. They told me that I needed to seek urgent medical attention and that I could attend any A&E department. I attended A&E but they turned me away and told me that NHS 111 had given me the incorrect information.
Pointed me in the right direction

Brilliant. I was pointed in the right direction of where to go to a walk in to get support. They also offer information which can be helpful.

I called and told them the issue and then they send you to the nearest place and that's very good. I've used them a few times and depending what it is they will give you advice or tell you to go to a walk-in.
They booked me an appointment

I have called them a number of times. The last time was due to an issue with my calf and they booked me an appointment at Katie Road.

Good but a long winded process

Overall I was happy with the service because I did eventually get a GP appointment with the help of NHS 111, but there is room for improvement. The system is very long winded and it took three separate phone calls to NHS 111 before I got the help I needed.
Gave advice to take dad to hospital

We had to call for my dad and they advised my mom to take dad to the hospital which she did.
Good service and website is a good alternativ

The website is ideal for people who don't want to make a call. I have called them in the past though and they were good. They sent out an ambulance straight away.
