Delays in appointments
June 4, 2024
Okay. There are delays and I find the receptionists can be nosey and ask inappropriate questions. You wait ages for an appointment.
Stressed as I have to find a new GP.

I have been registered with GP practice nearly 24 years. They know I moved to my new address and been with GP for almost 17 years and now I've been told that I have to find new GP because I am not in there catchment area.. I work in the same building Monday -Friday . But my experience with GP was amazing but the staff was never helpful . I stayed with this GP practice because of GP working there. And I was told I no longer have GP after 24 years . Letter was sent to me and said I have 30 days . The next day I had appointment but was cancelled because the took me off as immediate affect. I feel so stressed and will I am victimised.

Absolutely awful

My son required a referral to see a private medical professional. As per the T&C’s of our insurance company, a referral must be obtained by my son’s GP prior to making a claim. This usually means either a phone call or an in-person appointment with a GP to assess and a referral letter is issued hours later to be collected. Not the case in this practice.
They are, apparently, the only practice in the entire United Kingdom that does not provide medical referrals to patients to be seen, not by NHS professionals, but by my own privately funded medical insurance. They proceed to show us a leaflet that shows that there is a cost of up to £100 for referrals depending on the urgency of the situation.
While at the practice, they categorically refused to speak to my insurance company who was on the phone at the time of the incident. The person from the insurance company was in disbelief of what was going on and expressed that it had never happened before.
Thank goodness that my insurance company offered me a solution. My son will be assessed by a medical professional through my insurance, over the phone early next week and they will issue the referral my son requires. At no extra cost to myself.
Never was I advised of the possibility of requesting a second opinion regarding my son’s need to be seen by a medical professional.
I have been with my insurance for over a decade and moved countless times. Never have I been witness to this sort of thievery and lack of care. Not only do I pay an exorbitant amount for National Insurance, I also pay an exorbitant amount for our private insurance. And this practice has the cynicism to want to charge me £100 to write a letter for my son to see a medical professional provided by my own private insurance.
If you are thinking of joining this practice I highly advise against it. Look elsewhere.

I am having problems with appointments more than two years now. Each time I called there for appointment they asked me to call back again to get appointments. Its very annoying if I call there 8am or 3pm, always lines are busy and when they pick the phone they will say all the appointments booked and will ask to call back another time. Evan if I ask them for phone appointment and never asked for same day appointment. I always asked them if they can give me future appointment so we can have day off to attend appointment. Me and my husband are working from Monday to Friday and its very hard to call every day for two times. I always explain them that its not possible for us to call every day 8am and 3pm, sometime they listen and book phone appointment but most of the time they refuse. I complained to Manager as well but she was very rude and said she can't do anything as it is what it is. She said because most of their patients are not working so it is suits to them. I tried to explain her my situation but she was not interested. Its nearly two hand half year now. I am suffering few health conditions which not been treated properly because of not getting appointments. Never understand if its happening just to us or other people are struggling as well.
