I have been coming to the breast unit for the last 15 years, twice a year for mammograms. The staff are excellent and caring.

Not enough disabled spaces

I am accompanying mom as she has breast cancer. It has been good but the parking for disabled people hasn't been very good. There should be more spaces available. It defeats the object when you have to park miles away.

I had a routine mammogram here at the breast unit and found cancer. They were really good. So good at communicating about what was going to happen and they got me referred on quickly.

Dear Patient

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide feedback about Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham - apologies for the slightly delayed response. Firstly can we say how sorry we are to hear that a routine mammogram you had showed cancer. However we are pleased that it was managed well once you had the news - both in terms of communication of what was going to happen next and the speed of the referral.

Mammogram

Last month I have a mammogram and called them informing to reschedule it as they did. When I went on the said date the receptionist lady was so rude because at that time she was holding a cup of drinks I which greeted her "good morning" her reply " why are you here " in which the tone of her voice was bad. Unprofessional totally.
I said I have an appointment rebook and the person whom I spoke told me to come today showing the letter that where I noted down the new schedule. Her reply was " no clinic today we have a meeting so come back tomorrow " I said a lady asked me to come today because I rebook it She was really rude to me and having eye to eye contact with the other receptionist, so I asked I wasted my time and fuel in coming here after calling to rebook it and her voice was bit louder when telling me " come back tomorrow", so luckily I am not at work so accepted it.
The following day I came and found the post on the wall." Ask a someone if you do not want a trainee " this is not exactly the right word as I can remember. It was my turn a lady called me up and greeted her then ask what is your name and are you a trainee I said - Her reply in a harsh tone of her voice was " I am here for several years already so no need to ask someone else because I am in charge" Explain to her why I asked but never listened instead when she did my mammogram it was so painful as intentionally did it and you can see through her facial expression. What such hiring a staff like that no manners at all. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND BAD AT BAD ATTITUDES TOWARDS THE PATIENT.
I think she should go back to school and learn how to be good person and have a good moral characters because she is treating a patient not an object.
So I would like to tell the bosses that you need to make an evaluation for all the staff to be given to patient after such a procedure is done so that you will know how to review their next appraisal if needed a training to attend in dealing with patient , example how much more if a patient is disabled.
Action please for this so that the review at Women's Hospital will bit go up because it is disgusting.
