‘Improving mental health services for Birmingham service users’ details changes made by Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (BSMHFT)  to its community mental health services (CMHTs), after patients shared their issues with medicine management, access to care and appointments, respect and communication.

This report demonstrates that NHS commissioners are routinely hearing more feedback about their complaints systems as a result of a Healthwatch Birmingham investigation.

This report details improvements in care plans for people with serious mental illness in Birmingham. It follows an earlier Healthwatch Birmingham investigation which revealed that 20% of people with a serious mental illness do not have a care plan.
