More awareness regarding suicide prevention

November 19, 2018
I was waiting to be seen by GP. I met a young woman in her 20’s . She was distressed and talking to herself. She had clear signs of mental health issues as she was talking to the voices in her mind. She said she wants to be seen by a doctor at the surgery, but they were not accepting her or able to help. She just wanted to talk to somebody as was in clear crisis. She started crying as I started talking to her. I had to ask my doctor to search suicide prevention hotline number and then passed this to her. Receptionists at GP practices should be trained In suicide prevention and mental health patients shouldn’t be just left on their own in crisis.

Not one experience just very good ones whenever I have needed to visit. I have also recommended to others that have since changed to the surgery. The staff are always really helpful especially when I have had poorly children. I am also happy to see any doctor at the surgery because again they are all very helpful & professional

Difficulty in communication

September 21, 2018
Difficult to simply ask health professionals quick questions without having to make an appointment. Would be good to have an email address to ask such questions or a secured telephone line. Also involvement in discussions about our care. Agencies don’t talk to each other e.g. between GP in Birmingham and HIV consultant in London.

Good doctors but hard to get an appointment

Doctors good, consultations good. Getting a routine appointment takes 2 to 3 weeks. Staff at reception not always helpful.

Very difficult to get same day appointment

Good service but very difficult to get same day appointment. Few months ago I caught a flu and was feeling very ill but was only able to get an appointment after two days which is not good.

I always have a good experience, from receptionists to Drs and other clinical staff. The staff show genuine concern.

Good overall care.

We get an appointment on the same day whenever needed and have never had any issues. Everyone is friendly and professional and there are enough doctors who are very experienced. Dr is exceptionally great.

A Good all round practice

It must be very difficult to be nice to someone who's come in to consultation 'with attitude'? My hats off to those doctors and receptionists who face this every day. I attend 4 times a year and for the last three witnessed some needless attitude behaviour by patients both at reception and exiting their consultation. Its just plain rude and unnecessary bad behaviour. We wonder why not many chooose to be a doctor these days. One day observing in a doctor's waiting room would show why. You reap what you sow.

Friendly and approachable

Went with my son (2) in late September & asked about the flu vaccination for him and his sister. The doctor told me due to her operation four day earlier not a good idea and to make an appointment with the nurse. The receptionist when I tried told me I couldn't till December. Better communication between staff is my only complaint

Doctor is really good

October 25, 2016
Doctor is really good, really listens. My daughter has complex health needs and the doctor really listens and knows. They also release appointments twice a day so you can ring up on the morning. The only issue is that my daughter is not on the automatic list for being notified about flu jabs.
