They say you need to make an appointment, You can no longer walk in. have to call them in advance, so I had to leave and try and get an appointment through NHS 111.
Can no longer walk in for an appointment

Since covid its not a walk in centre, you used to be able to walk in and see a nurse. Now its an appointment based service. It's not good and not helpful if you can't get a doctor appointment.

They fully investigate but don’t give anything if not needed. Sliding door to car park is very close to seating area. Child ran out into car park, fast and difficult to catch him in time. Good as can get appointments at the weekend. Rather than sitting in A&E for hours.

Walk-in centre in very convenient. Sometimes better than my GP as the GP is very crowded most of the time. Late time appointment is available and not very crowded, so very good

Long waits in the afternoon. Need more doctors. Always one or two hours to be seen. Lots of people especially on Saturday and Sunday.

Mis-diagnosis

I used to take my father-in-law, who at the time was 73, and experiencing a lot of pains, to this GP very often. Every time they would take a blood test they just said that if you don’t hear from us, you can assume that everything is fine. He kept going back, but the GP never did anything. His daughter, who is in Germany, then asked him to come over to Germany for medical examination. He had just been seen a GP at Washwood Heath seven days before he travelled. When he was examined in Germany, they found that he had lung and liver cancer, and about nine months to live. They also saw that he had a serious lack of vitamin D and calcium and even this was never mentioned by his GP in UK. Sadly he passed away as the cancer was found too late. We feel that maybe they didn’t take his examinations seriously because of his age. Now everyone in my family is scared and seeking treatment elsewhere.
