Blue lighted to A&E

March 12, 2025
111 told me to call 999 as I was having breathing difficulties. They came within 10 minutes and checked me over. They said my heart rate was perfect and told me I would just need to go back to the GP. They called the GP and all of a sudden they had an appointment. In the end I ended up being blue lighted to A&E at Midland Met hospital.

Really nice

Really nice ambulance staff. They did their checks at the scene of the accident but forgot to sign me in when we got to A&E or the system wasn't working, not sure.

Kept my husband calm

February 5, 2025
The paramedics got him up and helped him to the ambulance. They kept him calm as he was confused and they tried to explain to him as best they could.

Poor service delivery 2 years ago

February 4, 2025
My husband collapsed at home on boxing day 2 years ago. He had lung cancer and pneumonia. When I called the ambulance they said it would be 4 hours so it would be better to take him in a taxi so my son drove us to the A&E. Poor service delivery

The ambulance came out and they were able to tell the family what to do when I had a fall in my home. They were good.

Took care of me

The GP called them and they came out really quickly as I was not very well. They told me they were going to take me to the QE. We did have a little wait but they took care of me in the ambulance.

Over an hour to wait

January 27, 2025
I made a mistake speaking to the ambulance on the phone as they knew I was conscious. If they thought I wasn't they would come out quick. Instead they said it would be over an hour and could I get a taxi there. My wife took me in the end.

Told to wait 4 to 5 hours

January 22, 2025
I called for an ambulance as I was having a heart attack and they ask all these questions from a script. Even after telling them I was having a heart attack they said the ambulance would be 4 to 5 hours. I was so weak I couldn't even hang up the phone so it ended up going back through to them again and the same lady then said she would send a paramedic on a bike but I couldn't wait. My neighbour found me and took me to A&E.
