Really positive experience
Accident and emergency services

Admitted to hospital via Accident and Emergency due to my daughter having an epileptic seizure. From start to finish the staff were so helpful and understanding and really made the situation as stress free as possible. We have since been admitted three times with more fits and attended the hospital for various appointments, every time we have come staff have been amazing and made it a really positive experience. They do such a good job and we are so grateful. I would just like to say how grateful we are to Birmingham Children's Hospital, all the staff do an amazing job and we are so fortunate to have the opportunity to receive care from them.

I have two children under the children’s hospital and must say I have received a first class service. The staff are amazing and very helpful. They do not judge or make me feel intimidated, like I have in other hospitals. The only criticism I would give is the waiting time, as the time of appointment is mostly never kept.

My four years daughter is been treated here for kidney failure since last one year. I don’t have words to praise them. The level of care, support and kindness they have shown to us cannot be matched. Thank you very much.
Brilliant in all aspects

The hospital staff has been brilliant in all aspects. My daughter was diagnosed with photo-sensitivity and they have provided all the support they can. We visit our consultant once a month.

Relatively positive experience today. Otherwise have to wait for at least 30 mins. Clinical team provided all the information we required. We were referred to other service on time. Very happy and satisfied from the service received.

Fast easy and quick to get to. Staff are lovely, daughter had bloods and the staff was caring explained what it was for and with patience.

My son had his operation here twice and we have received great help & support. Today our appointment was at 9am but we were seen at 10:30 am it’s a long wait. Doctors gave us extra time nearly 45 mins and explained everything very well. so well compensated for a long wait.
Staff care and communication excellent

Attended lung function, dental and stem cell transplant team for preparatory tests leading to a stem cell transplant. Long wait in the main outpatients – always! Staff care, compassion, communication excellent throughout care. Involve our daughter throughout care, yet consider if she should be involved. Provide a wide range of care, considering all physical, mental and social needs of her and us as a family. Neurologist has given up her time and opened channels of direct communication to us to help coordinate care. Communication with local GP was more difficult than it should be.
Waiting times are a lot

My daughter caught an infection herpes she has eczema, doctor diagnosed straight away. I came at 10 am she didn’t get medication till 6pm. Waiting times are a lot. Experiences with nurses – some very helpful and good with my child. One nurse was not helpful.
