Poor needs improvement

December 17, 2024
I am 71 & my husband is 74. We are both in poor health. I have osteoporosis and I haven't been able to walk properly since I fractured my pelvis. My husband was prescribed antibiotics and the prescription was sent to chemist. I went back & forth trying to sort collection of the prescription and it wasn't sorted until the day after he should of collected. I was so angry and upset that this was not dealt with as soon as I informed the receptionist that the prescription wasn't sent to the chemist. I should not have to keep making several journeys (I don't drive) with my health to collect an item that I should of been able to collect, especially it been antibiotics that clearly has some urgency. The whole experience left me emotional & exhausted. There needs to be a better system/communication in place. I also tried to call the surgery to save on pointless trips but unfortunately it just said that the surgery was at full capacity and couldn't receive any more calls. I really feel a better system should be in place for staff & for patients

Reliable and see us quickly

December 16, 2024
We were seen quickly initially. My son had blood tests and a chest x-ray which showed TB positive in blood but negative on the x-ray. The doctors are very helpful and see us quickly when we need to see someone. They are reliable for us.

Good

I was on a bike ride and fell off. I hurt my toe really bad. They made me an appointment and said they thought it was broken and I should go to the Children's hospital. They were good.

Always able to get appointments

November 4, 2024
I've always been able to get an appointment. It's a pain getting through as you have to keep redialling but I do always get an appointment. I always see different clinicians and I haven't had many face to face but that doesn't make a difference.

It's not easy to get through to them

July 31, 2024
Not easy to get through to them. You call them and can't get through. When you don't feel well you just want to see a doctor they say they'll call you back. You wait the day and there is no call back.

Shocking, very very poor

July 16, 2024
A busy mum trying to get my child to school on time between 8am-9am if either of us needs a doctor I have to call at 8.15am, sometimes calling back 400 times just to get on the waiting list of 12 for 45 minutes to try to get an appointment and drive to school on hold. Then to be told there are no appointments because even though they say 'do not go into the surgery' people do at 8am and they give them the appointments, keeping us hanging on the phone. I was no. 6 for 15 minutes - the receptionist told me they are trying to stop this - simple, just don't serve the people in the queue. They sent me to Katie Road 'walk-in' centre with my poorly child, to find it's not walk-in, I had to call from the car park to get an appointment. They were far more efficient but twice I have had to go to them as my own GP wouldn't help. The receptionists try to help with repeat prescriptions but always get it wrong and I have to go back and forth multiple times between the surgery and chemist to try to sort it. Most times the pharmacist has left the surgery being part time and doctors refuse to correct prescriptions that their colleagues have either forgotten to add something important to or the receptionist hasn't a clue and sends a prescription for the wrong items despite telling me what's on my letter from the hospital.

It's a waste of time and totally frustrating when I need my HRT medication. Trying to sort it there is no privacy, no-one can hear through the covid plastic screen across reception that is absolutely disgusting having never been cleaned, covered with a thick layer of dried-on spit from multiple people trying to communicate, having to shout their private business so the whole waiting room knows I'm on HRT! Even worse when the doctor forgot to add my Thrush medication!!! I ended up paying for it off the shelf then got an apology text from the doctor and had to go and pay again the next day as I needed 3 doses - I could have paid one prescription fee if they got it right.

Twice my son had a severe ear infection and he had to go to Katie Road instead as the surgery didn't have an appointment or GPs were on strike. This is the tip of the iceberg, every contact with this surgery is full of mistakes and they are totally unhelpful and clueless. The staff do their best and the doctors and nurses are lovely, if you can get to see one but really you just cannot risk getting ill these days, it's a nightmare. I'm looking to leave this surgery as they clearly are at breaking point but then aren't they all?

Staff are okay

July 15, 2024
If I can get an appointment it isn't too bad. It's not the same GP you see. The staff are okay.

It's not a clean surgery

May 7, 2024
I will volunteer to clean it up, steam clean it. I don't thinks it's very clean. Not all of the staff are friendly and the main doctor could also be better.

Good. I can get appointments with them. I don't wait too long for one.
