Inconsistent !!!

I would be highly concerned if I was elderly, lived with dementia or similar. Until I can find an alternative i will be continuing to phone and email my legitimate concerns. I am fobbed off with mechanical responses and no consistent improvement.

Absolutely awful, no respect at all

Mum having carers 4 times a day. Am carers we’re very polite. However clearly inadequate training. We stopped all pm calls, as standard of care was that poor. Examples not listing to mum begging to come off the commode, until I stepped in. Not cleaning or putting cream where needed, wearing the same gloves they had just done personal care with, to prepare drinks and offer food. Clearly no trained in infection control. I came down to mum on one occasion, hearing her say “ this is very embarrassing and undignified “ Mum had her bottom half clothing completely removed. For a toileting call. A supervisor had come unannounced and let herself in to do a spot check. To then say “ I called there was no answer” had no intentions of prior arranging. To then say mum needs 2 carers. When OT had agreed only one carer. Supervisor was rude and argumentative. They do not listen to any concerns you have, they argue instead. Hence to say we immediately finished them. I have huge concerns about elderly clients, who have no family. Worst agency I have come across!!

All carers who look after me, are so good and well-behaving with me. Carer always asks me my choices. While giving personal care, they always follow privacy and dignity. Ndh and their carers are excellent, they always stand next to me.

I've been with NDH care for nearly 6years, and carers delivering care to me so polity and safely. I never again the care staff and management staff. Carers always ask about my choices and need and also, encourage me.

Carers showed no compassion. And unsafe

We had the carers in 4 times a day. On the first visit the young carer approached the bed and shook my mu on her shoulder repeating hello hello hello several times. The carer was reminded of my mums name. They then tried to roll my mum while she was in an upright position until we had to stop them to tell them that she needed to be laying flat for this. Continued to roll my mum around the bed like a piece of meat without even telling her first what they were about to do. They didn't understand when we told them that the night bag needed to come off the catheter, just leaving the day bag on. After finally getting them to understand watched them take over 5 minutes to do this 30 second job. Finished the rest of their care very poorly. Then scanned out and got their coats on and opened the front door. At which point we stopped them to ask why they had left my mums bed in the highest position. When every half decent carer knows that it should always be put into the lowest position possible in case the patient falls out. One of them then had the audacity to argue that she was just going to do it. Even though she had opened the front door. We made some phone calls and told the powers that be that we didn't want them near our mum ever again.
Incompetent and unsafe.

I have had carers for a long time. The ones in ndh are really helpful and will always go above and beyond if asked.
