Very grateful that our Aunt was cared for by

December 4, 2020
My sister and I would like to express our gratitude to the Team at the Perry Tree centre for their professionalism and care they showed our Aunt during almost eight years that she was in their care. Whenever we visited the centre we were always impressed with the cleanliness and cleaning staff were constantly cleaning to keep the high standard. The food always looked nice and was presented well. Most importantly we whitnessed the staff interactions with my Aunt when they were unaware that we were there and we always seen the staff showing care and kindness to her. We were also comforted that she passed away in familiar surroundings. The senior team were always accessible and happy to talk and answer any questions that we had. We wanted to express our thanks as the work of the wonderful staff at Perry Tree is appreciated by the residents and their families

An outstanding, caring centre

November 14, 2020
My mother has been a resident at The Perry Tree Centre for four and a half years. She is 99 years old and has quite advanced mixed dementia, and can be very difficult, both verbally and physically. Despite this the staff have taken all possible care of her since she moved in there. She is now bed bound, but they make time to spend with her and talk with her. This was happening before the advent of Covid19.
I haven't seen her since the start of lockdown, but I am given regular updates by the senior care staff as to her comfort and general health. I am able to phone them whenever I need to, and they contact me, also on a regular basis.
I cannot thank them enough for the time, effort and care shown to my mother since she has been there, and I cannot thank them enough on my behalf for the friendliness and inclusivity they have shown me and my family when we were able to visit. This extends from the Centre manager right through to the ancilliary staff. They are all superb.

Excellent Home

October 29, 2020
Visited the home as I was passing through the area. I wanted to see what service they provide for our locals. Was very impressed with the staff for their caring attitude and dedication towards the members. Staff very approachable and the quality and level of activities provided by staff for the residents was just amazing. I could see that the activities provided are well thought through in relation to the therapeutic benefits to the residents. I was most impressed with the range of things that the residents were able to participate in. I was not able to see the residents due to the restrictions but was shown pictorial evidence with many residents happily enjoying the interaction between the staff and the activities inhouse which I felt was breath taking.

I just wanted to let you know and to give credit to the team where credit is due, as far too often little things go unnoticed. As a society we are always quick to complain when things are not going right so just wanted to show my appreciation to the staff for their patience enthusiasm and due diligence in looking after the residents in such nice caring a way. Providing stimulation and purpose for the residents.
Liked the idea of the hens laying eggs so the residents can have fresh eggs to eat. That is so lovely and the home having the ducks and other animals is quite a nice unique touch which am sure the residents benefit positively from.
Excellent environment ! so welcoming. Was refreshing to see. Thanks to the staff!

Heath and Wellbeing session

August 27, 2020
It was a pleasure to be invited to be part of ‘focus on health and wellbeing ’ organised by the manager for staff and citizens. After a successful Zoom presentation , I attended the centre by arrangement on Tuesday 25th August.

It was an exciting afternoon, those attending were able to experience a fabulous luxury hand treatment, (so essential to combat all the extra hand washing caused by the pandemic ) information was offered on avoiding skin problems (again, because of wearing a face mask and breathing all the warm moist air back onto the face. These conditions create an ideal breeding ground for skin problems, including acne) and, general advice on keeping the skin clean and healthy. The staff were engaged whilst maintaining social distancing, and were properly dressed in their PPE.

It is so important to feel good, especially during these difficult times, and to have quality ‘me time’ just 10-15 mins a day massaging the face, or hands, makes such a difference to the feeling of well being .

Thank you Perry Tree for the opportunity, and also for the super organic eggs provided by the citizens as part of their pet therapy initiative, I was totally spoilt!!.

Looking forward to the next opportunity.

RESIDENTS KEPT SAFE DURING COVID 19 PANDEMIC

July 13, 2020
My mom has been a resident at the Perry Tree Centre for over two and a half years.
She has been so well looked after during this time. But the Manager & his team should be particularly commended during this Covid 19 Pandemic period of time, for keeping ALL of the residents safe from the virus. Through what has been an unprecedented, very difficult time. Their hard work & professionalism has meant that our Mom is well & safe, which is a great relief for us. ????
SO WELL DONE ???????????????????????? AND THANK YOU !!
We really appreciate all that you do for mom.

V.E Day celebrations were a great success!

May 9, 2020
It was great to see my mother and other residents outside enjoying the party atmosphere. Although we had to social distance ourselves from the residents we were still able to have good conversations with them all.
Due to the stress of social distancing guidelines both for residents and their families, it would be much appreciated if such type of gatherings/events were held periodically to improve the mental health of all involved .

VE Day Perry Trees Drive Through

May 9, 2020
In honour of the seventy-fifth anniversary of VE Day, I had the pleasure of attending the celebrations at the Perry Trees Care Home in Kingstanding. It was a socially-distanced commemorative event however, we had beautiful sunshine. The bank holiday was celebrated by both staff, residents and their families. The car park was utilised, families remained in their vehicles at all times and drove around the one way system, stopping intermittently to wave and speak to the residents and staff through their car windows.

A minute silence was observed at 11 o'clock, then the car park was opened and vehicles were beaconed to drive through in a orderly fashion. The residents and staff waved their union jack flags, the building was decorated in red, white and blue bunting. It was a wonderful atmosphere, the residents sang along to Vera Lynn's iconic WW2 song "We'll Meet Again" to mark the occasion. The quarantine did not prevent the residents and staff celebrating this special occasion. The spirit of all who were present was captured.

I would like to commend the staff who have cared for my my mother for a number of years and continue to go above and beyond for the residents.

A special thank you to the Manager for his creativity and vision for Perry Trees. He continues to find ways of bringing families together through this difficult time, which was demonstrated through the joyous VE Day celebrations.

Well done Perry Trees! (Until we meet again ....)

VE. day drive through - Visit my mom

May 9, 2020
Very well coordinated event. Opportunity to see my mom. Staff were all great. Plenty drinks put out for residents. Sun protection (hats) also put on less independent residents. I was impressed by the care taken by the staff. They should be congratulated. Social distancing was well observed

Attended the Perry Tree Drive through VE Day

May 8, 2020
On Friday 8th May I attended the Perry Tree Drive through, which celebrated the 75th Anniversary of VE Day.

Upon my arrival, I was immediately impressed at how well organised & safely coordinated the plan was implemented during this time of social distancing due to Covid-19. I was the first to arrive and was welcomed into the car park by the Service Manager at exactly 11am as planned. The residents were transported outside of the building in wheelchairs by the staff so that they could see their relatives as they drove through the car park. There were also some lovely VE Day decorations/bunting placed outside and drinks for the residents.

The staff & residents were all very well dressed. My Grandmother looked lovely & happy. The weather was also sunny & bright which assisted with the smooth running of the event.

I was most impressed by Perry Trees thoughtfulness and efforts in trying to ensure that their residents maintain a close connection with their relatives by providing such an opportunity during this difficult time. I have not heard of many residential homes across the country offering anything similar. Therefore as a family we feel very blessed & privileged to have been able to do this.
