Helpful and lovely staff

January 6, 2023
Happy to go there they were helpful. They would talk to me about what was going on. The nurses were absolutely lovely.

Appointment over the phone

December 13, 2022
GP referred me to the hospital Genetics councilor and respiratory dept took 2 years , quite difficult they wanted to do an appointment over the phone and I did not have a phone that could do that. So rescheduled an appointment face to face for 4 / 5 months after the original date. After seeing doctors they referred me to heartlands for tests for cystic fibrosis, was fairly quick. The results took 7 weeks to come back and said it wasn’t cystic fibrosis but something else. they referred me back to Solihull.

7 day expected stay extended to 24 days hell

December 9, 2022
My bowel resection surgery went to plan, however my post operative care was riddled with errors that left me at Solihull in a debilitated state, and suffering malnutrition. To recover I was transferred to QE after 12 days for TPN nutrition. Unfortunately more errors continued which kept me in for a further 12 days, where I suffered an infection, and was given phlebitis. I am now at home traumatized and weak, but recovering.
Incidentally another patient in my ward at QE, was doing well with his self physio, I commended his drive to get his mobility back. He looked about, and whispered across "It's fear". He was not alone.

They were good

November 21, 2022
They moved me to Solihull Hospital after my hip operation and I was there for a few days for rehabilitation. The Occupational Therapist made sure I had all the aids I would need at home before I left the hospital. They were ever so good at sorting it out and they came to visit me at home. The consultant said I can have treatment there every 12 months for the osteoporosis.

Care was good

October 17, 2022
I had a frozen shoulder which I was referred for by the doctors. It has been a few years since I had the treatment at the hospital.
I originally had to go to the Heartlands hospital for consultation, however for the injection and treatments I was referred to Solihull hospital
The service and experience of care was good. The consultants and staff provided me with information and advised on the processes. Because of the treatment and care I received, my frozen shoulder has got better, and I no longer experience any pains or discomfort.

Really good

Really good apart from the fact it's gone to phone appointments. I'm contacting them today to see if my health check will be face to face. If I want something on repeat prescription, they sort it out.
