Not trained to cope with deaf people

April 14, 2021
Depends who you see,, some doctors are fantastic, others won't listen & just want to prescribe meds. Also receptionists are either helpful, as I'm profoundly deaf or are obviously not trained to cope with deaf people.

need more efficient booking system

November 21, 2018
Getting appointments is very difficult, you call 8am, but can’t get through. You can only see nurse practitioner. Since they have new practice (combined) Its got impossible to get appointments. They just told me to go to walk in clinic. The only way to see a doctor is to pre-book appointments. When I did get to see a GP she was very good and she has referred me to hospital.

I am sorry you are finding it difficult to obtain an appointment

for information we now open 8am-8pm Monday -Friday plus Saturday and Sunday for Pre-bookable appointments
we also have book online available if that helps
We also have 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners available daily who are able to triage your symptoms and refer to a GP if required
also we had 399 DNA's last month which does not help appointment availability
we also accept that we are currently in a very busy period (in all GP practices)
if you would like to make yourself known to the practice we would be happy to discuss

Very mixed feelings... not always positive.

October 19, 2017
In the passed when I needed an urgent appointment, I couldn't get one and had to wait ages, resulting in going to the walking clinic as an alternative... when I've finally seen a doctor I've been missed diagnosed. Recently there have been some changes at Oaks Medical Centre so I'm hoping future experiences will be more positive.

Couldn't get an appointment

October 11, 2016
Have to phone at 8am. By the time I've phoned through, all the appointments have gone. I complained and saw a nurse practitioner and got referred for physio in the community centre. Struggle to see diabetic doctor too.

i am sorry you found it difficult to obtain an appointment - General practice (all surgeries) are under extreme pressure as demand is out stripping capacity, we have a specialist Nurse for diabetes at the Practice and if you make yourself known to the practice we can schedule an appointment with Her. - also it may be better for you to register for booking appointments 'on line' this will give you greater flexibility in securing an appointment

GP surgery had a few issues

August 15, 2016
Prescriptions not ready 2 days, take 4 days.
X-ray not done, so surgery couldn't take place. Told should have had physio, should have been going in each week for physio. Nobody told me.
Promised letter for treatment in 6 weeks, kept delaying treatment.
Delayed allergy diagnosis and tests - eczema.
