Getting an appointment is next to impossible
November 4, 2019
Getting an appointment is next to impossible. You have to wait for ten days even to see the nurse what to say about doctor.

There isn’t enough time to talk with doctors
February 27, 2019
There isn’t enough time to talk with doctors. Some doctors are good, some bad. Communication is worse since computers. There are 20 doctors at GP practice, so you tend to see different doctors every time. We use to have a relationship with our doctors. It’s not individual anymore. We don’t receive mental health support from GP as we are already in the system. Since being on the mental health system we can’t adopt children or be on the jury service. They do have home visits as wife is scared around people.
Clinics overrun but service is good

Difficult to Book BSL Interpreters
September 6, 2018
Being born deaf and relying on BSL Interpreter to help with communication in health situation is very stressful.
With my medication (BP / Heart and eye disease) I can’t phone my surgery without any hassle, even with help from Typetalk on Minicom machine. To avoid that I make a journey uphill to the surgery to order prescription. Although I use computer for emails I am not confident with online.
Booking a BSL Interpreter at the surgery for doctor’s appointment is not straightforward as I don’t see it happening on the spot. There have been times when I have turned up for appointments and interpreter hasn't turned up or hasn't been booked - Therefore it's either cancel the visit to doctor til another time which could be three weeks wait or face the doctor thus in ten mins which is impossible to cover with all the writing between Dr and me!
To be fair some staff are deaf aware and friendly but those who are not could do with short deaf awareness course, and that also it includes new doctors.

Good surgery/ difficult appointment system
August 7, 2018
My experience of seeing doctor and nurse for an appointment is always excellent. Never see same doctor twice as large practice. Waiting times for appointments and making appointments is difficult. Electronic appointment system has not worked. Find it better to come in and make an appointment face to face.
