Waiting over 4 months for an appointment

Sexual Health GUM
August 19, 2016
I have been waiting for over 4 months for an appointment at the GUM clinic. I was referred by my GP and then received a letter from the clinic saying I had a deadline in which to make the appointment. Every time I call to make the appointment they say they have none available.

No waiting, good treatment

X-ray of arm: For daughter did not have to wait long, explained everything understood what they were telling me, gave choice of cast. Talked to my daughter, not just me.

Daughter needed grommets

Ear Nose and Throat
July 23, 2016
After a lengthy wait our daughter had grommets fitted in both ears. Pleased with the day and the play therapist on the ward bent over backwards to ensure our daughter settled. However the aftercare has been awful. We're told that she needed appointments three months to check then six months after. I'm the one who has to continuously ring to ask for an appointment, our six month check was due in May. We received an appointment letter yesterday. It will be at least 10 months since she was last seen when that date arrives. Just continually told no sorry, sorry he seems to have lots of appointments for good hope?. My daughter is 4 years old. I even explained the gp has said one has fallen out. Fed up of ringing around and waiting.

A rushed, sham and horrific service

I attended a gynaecology appointment for a biopsy. The doctor was rushing and having private conversations not relating to me medically as well as having to do the biopsy 4 times due to not concentrating

Incompetent, poor customer service

The wait was appalling for someone that has undergone brain surgery, not dealt with correctly and was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth the next day!

I had surgery which was not at all successful

Gynaecology
March 2, 2016
I assumed my surgery would be successful as the Surgeon had told me would and it was not and when I told him that my fibroids has got larger he said it definitely is not your fibroids then said I will have to go back to my Doctor. I have since found out that I was right it is my fibroids it has got bigger than ever and I have to have another operation in 2 weeks but at a different hospital.

My daughter said that the Nurse who was looking after me was very rude and she did not want to leave the Nurse in my care because of her bad attitude towards her. While I was in hospital I had my food taken away from me before I could even eat my food and I was not asked if I want my dinner. My friend at to ask the Nurse at the main desk if I can at least have some toast because I have not had anything to eat and I kept vomiting all the time and had a severe headache with the amount of drugs that I had been given during my surgery when I asked the Nurse not to give me much but she did not listen and I was really out of it my daughter and friend said I looked really terrible and was rambling alot where they could not understand what I had been saying with all the drugs that had been in my body which I am not happy about.

Very helpful - better than private companies!

Have been very helpful, support, kind, thoughtful and took extra time explaining. Also over the phone supplying hearing aid batteries for my elderly mother. Both of us have found this to be true over the last 4 years.

My elderly mother was called in due to suspected cancer. Only male gynos available with no female consultants at all. Where is patient choice here? Furthermore, she has messed about considerably regarding appointments and is too frail to be turning up either at Heartlands or Solihull hospital for scans at the whim of the staff. Communication between consultants between Heartlands and Solihull is abysmal. I cannot believe this service has not been reported before.
