Fantastic service
March 23, 2021
Fantastic service. Hip operation done in between lock downs in and out in 2days. Staff couldn’t have been better.
Appointments Cancelled twice
January 28, 2021

Absolutely fantastic
Oncology
February 21, 2020
Absolutely fantastic – I use oncology and have never had a problem. Treatment always explained well – very good. For this hospital if my son can’t send me they send an ambulance car to pick me up – (ring up & book it – fantastic)
Unacceptable discharge procedure
General Surgery
January 6, 2020
After having a knee replacement and having to stay in hospital longer than expected due to an infection I was told I was being discharged from hospital, I was sent to discharge lounge and was looking forward to going home. Due to inadequate paperwork and it being early evening I was sent back up to the ward for another night in hospital.
Physiotherapy appointments were too far apart
Physiotherapy
January 6, 2020
After having a knee replacement I was very disappointed in the amount of physiotherapy sessions offered after surgery. The appointments were not easy to get which resulted in waiting for two weeks for further appointments. This made me very stressed as my progress was very slow and it resulted in me paying for private physiotherapy on top of the few appointments I had with the hospital.

Consultant informative
December 18, 2018
I came to the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital after referral by my GP.
All aspects of my care up to having the operation have been good, in my opinion.
The consultant was informative and happy to explain my operation to me. The re-operation assessment was efficient. The hip surgery workshop was also informative.

Diabetes awareness needed
December 18, 2018
Being diabetic I think the staff in the reception area should be aware of people like myself who are nil by mouth , as it can be sometime waiting for surgery and not eating/drinking can have an effect on us during a long wait.
Provides an excellent service

I find this hospital provides an excellent service, both in physio and day case visits. Staff are always willing to help when they can.
My only complaint would be that when waiting for a relative that's in for day based treatments i.e. injections then you could be advised of an average waiting time. This could be easy to work out as these procedures are done on a daily basis.
