What a difference a ward makes.
A&E is dreadful but good care once admitted

- Vague, disinterested reception staff.
- No information from triage nurse
- Nearly 3 hr waiting time with all vending machines broken and not even water offered
- At least if you were given an indication of you waiting time you could leave A&E to pop to the cafe and get a drink

Crap service from the time it takes to see someone and all we went in was because my mate mis-placed his tablets and needed some to keep him going through the night. The staff can't even look at you when you are talking to them rude and incompetent!
Excellent

The radiographers need to be retrained to be more accurate in their diagnosis. Every scan I've had has missed things that ultrasound has picked up on or completely missed things. These are supposedly professional staff that just assume its the same problem, they need to look at each scan as if its a new scan doctors and surgeons base their surgery on these scans and the staff are just incompetent
very good and quick 10 out 0f 10

After being referred three times to Sandwell hospital by my optician for cataracts I was told by the same young lady who tested my eyes that I did not have cataracts and that my optician needed to test my eyes again! After changing my optician, guess what the new optician told me? Yes, I have a mature cataract that needs surgery, thankfully at City they now saw the cataract and I am booked in for surgery. Why was this missed, not once but three times???
good so far, caring, informative

Being a type 1 diabetic I was reassured by the diabetic clinic and attention to my conditions needs. However I was shocked to find that, the menu here is not diabetic friendly. There is a good portion of the women in the maternity ward who happen to be diabetic. However cereal, white toast were offered for breakfast and sandwhiches/jacket potato or a potatoe based soup with bananas for lunch, all Carbohydrate rich. I was told I would be better off having food brought in as the food options did not support a diabetic diet. I experienced something similar in West Bromich hospital a couple of years ago but with the diabetic care available here I was shocked about the food. I have struggles to manage my blood sugar levels throughout the pregnancy affecting.the growth of my child. I worried enough at home about what I consumed. I do not need this added stress in the hospital environment where I am essentially incapable of affecting a change untill I receive visitors and more suitable food.
