Been alright

August 30, 2023
Appointment been alright, first part was very fast but second part bit longer. Feel like it’s been more calm. A lot more recorded through an appointment. Gestational diabetes and communicate well and call me in if anything changes. Noticed a lot more male sonographers and they should have a system to let you know that will be the case or opt to choose a women sonographer.

No tv’s in gynae ward

August 30, 2023
No tv’s in gynae ward. I am here for 8 weeks, If I didn’t have my phone, I’d be bored. Some of the midwives are lovely but some don’t listen to me, It depends which one you get. In and out for a month. Need more work on the food. Food is lukewarm and those who serve the food are unfriendly. Feel well looked after. Chose to come to this hospital because they know my history. Called them and took 2 hours to get through. They need more phone lines to get through.

Don’t feel like I am being listened to

August 30, 2023
Don’t feel like I am being listened to, Had a baby previously who had passed away. Neonatal team was fantastic. But have to push for appointments to be seen and feel like I am not being listened to or previous experience are being taken into account, they don’t read the notes and are telling that everything is going to be okay. Didn’t offer bereavement support. Just a meeting to tell me what happened to my baby wasn’t their fault. All appointments seem backwards. Have to see consultant before a scan to measure my water to see what’s happening and if they can get the baby out.

Sometimes can be chaotic

August 23, 2023
It’s okay, sometimes can be chaotic. Can feel like I am waiting excessively. Was never booked for scan. Been to see consultant and had my BP taken and then have to wait for bloods. Can seem a bit disorganized. Communication is not the best. Needs to be documentation / signs to let people know about the waits. People may not expect the long waits when it’s their first time. Diabetic clinics should provide free fruit, biscuits and snacks if you know people are going to be here for ages instead of spending £15 in café.
