Long waiting times

Waiting times can be very long, I have had to wait for 4 hours after my appointment time to be seen in the past.

Thank you for providing feedback about a previous visit to Birmingham Dental Hospital when you had an exceptionally long wait to be seen. Whilst it can be difficult for the clinical teams to always keep clinics running to time, it is very unusual to keep any patient waiting for this amount of time. Very disappointing waiting times

Appointment at 10am, was called in within 10 minutes but the x-ray machine wasn't working properly so was asked to wait in waiting area.

Now been waiting 45 minutes and no one has come out to see us. I had to ask a member of staff to find out what the hold up was. It looks like we had been missed off the radar!

Very disappointing when you are having to wait all this time with an anxious child.

Waiting times could improve

Appointment times could do with being more on time as sometimes we can wait over half an hour or more past our original appointment time!

I am sorry you were asked to wait and then had to ask a member of staff for an update only to find you had been overlooked. I can only imagine with an anxious child, any unnecessary long wait will have left you with a disappointing impression of the service offered. Staff and waiting times OK

Staff and waiting times ok but they need to shout loudly when they are calling patients for appointment, in reality they just whisper it slowly by standing in the door. They should in the main waiting area and loudly take the name so that nobody is missed otherwise people can miss them and loose the appointment.

Thank you for your feedback. The acoustics in the main atrium mean that when staff call patients into clinic it can be quite difficult for some patients to hear. As a result of your feedback we have reminded staff of the need to move towards the seating and to project their voices, repeating the name a few times to avoid being unheard. We are also looking at how we can use the available display screens to help in alerting patients to anticipated waiting times so they know if they have time to visit the café or restaurant should they wish to and be back in the waiting area in time to be called.

Very positive experience of this place so far, staff is very good & professional and waiting time is good. Only thing they need is more brighter signposting for toilets and other facilities. Also all sign boards are too small to be noticed.
