Sent an ambulance

July 16, 2024
I called and was put on hold last year as my husband was having chest pains. They then sent an ambulance straight away in the middle of the night.

Left for 3 hours in pain.

July 15, 2024
My husband was in pain for 3 hours after I called them. He has kidney problems. I called them back after an hour and they said they were still figuring out what to do. 2 hours later when they called back could hear him in pain and they said he may need an ambulance but I should take him in my car but I couldn't move him. They sent an ambulance 10 minutes later.

I rang 111 and they told me to go to a walk in. They sent me miles away which was fine because I had to go.

More information is needed by them

I had bad pain in my back and so I called them. They told me to go straight to A&E but they should have told me how long I would be waiting. Helpful more more information is needed.

They gave me good advice

June 25, 2024
I had a dental emergency over bank holiday and they were brilliant. They told me which dentists offered emergency services but I couldn't go to them as they were so expensive. They also advised me to take paracetamol and ibuprofen. I took it until after the bank holiday and then went to my own dentist.

NHS 111

NHS 111 is much more than a helpline – if you're worried about an urgent medical concern, you can call 111 to speak to a fully trained adviser. Depending on the situation, the NHS 111 team can connect you to a nurse, emergency dentist or even a GP, and can arrange face-to-face appointments if they think you need one. NHS 111 advisers can also assess if you need an ambulance and send one immediately if necessary.
