They asked me a lot of triage questions but they then just told me to get a GP appointment as soon as possible. They wasn't really useful.

Very useful service. You don't wait long for them to answer. They give good advice and information at the end. They refer you onto a walk in or other place to get help.

Mental health crisis option

August 5, 2024
When you press for a mental health crisis you are then signposted to call another number. People with mental health are sick of been signposted for pillar to post. We need a direct line from NHS 111 and we need it urgently as false signposting, costs lives. Are NHS 111 stress testing their service on a regular basis ?

NHS 111

NHS 111 is much more than a helpline – if you're worried about an urgent medical concern, you can call 111 to speak to a fully trained adviser. Depending on the situation, the NHS 111 team can connect you to a nurse, emergency dentist or even a GP, and can arrange face-to-face appointments if they think you need one. NHS 111 advisers can also assess if you need an ambulance and send one immediately if necessary.
