We need help for my son

February 27, 2024
They cancelled the EHCP appointment and didn't reschedule it. I called and asked for another appointment. The paediatrician finally gave us one and School with SALT. They discussed the EHCP but the paediatrician wasn't really helpful. I don't feel like we're really getting anywhere.

It took days for the hospital to treat me

February 12, 2024
I had an ileostomy reversal last month, following from bowel cancer resection in 2022. The operation went very well, however my care at the hospital did not go as well. I did not take well to an antibiotic, I could not eat for 5 days, I was sick, my blood pressure went extremely high (unusual for me), the staff did nothing to counteract this. I had no IV fluids, no change in the antibiotic, my wound dressing was not changed from the operation on Tuesday until the Saturday when I raised concerns with the nurse. On the Saturday my daughter (who is a nurse) visited. Thank goodness. When she raised my falling health with the staff nurse, I was within 30 minutes put on an IV, and the antibiotic was stopped. Within 18 hours, my condition improved. Sufficiently to allow me to leave the following Monday. Thank goodness. I was still unwell for the following week, but had constant care AT HOME.

Really poor care

February 12, 2024
Really poor care of my father. Left dehydrated for 4 days post op. No adequate pain relief. No response to bloods taken.
Had to ask for fluids, pain relief and anti sickness for him.
The nurses were not able to answer basic information about my father or medication he was prescribed. This is the second admission I have had to intervene as a nurse myself I am embarrassed at the poor care and lack of basic post operative management knowledge.

Worried about the injections

January 17, 2024
I have injections in my knee. They were very good but they went to do another one and I feel very worried as some people have reacted very badly to them and I might not be able to walk.

Most of my scans have been at maternity here. You do have to wait a while but it isn't that bad. The staff are good and I have no issues at all.

Urgent appointment was cancelled

December 12, 2023
It was okay. One of the women during the MRI scan was off. They called before hand to make sure there was no contrast was being used due to having one kidney. The receptionist said it would not be used and was not mentioned on the notes. I got to the hospital and they said they needed to prep me for the injection. I told them I was told I was not having that because of my kidney. They ended up cancelling the procedure on the day to reschedule the week after. I asked the receptionist and she said it was the consultant's fault but I think she was trying to cover her tracks. This was meant to be an urgent appointment too.
