Appointment within 3 hours

March 23, 2023
Phoned 111 for Scarlett fever, they referred us to Katie road. They gave us an appointment within 3 hours. Had to wait 40 mins for doctor to call back after telling them my issue.

Good at directing us

March 23, 2023
Good at directing us to night place for treatment. We are often send to Katie Road which is out of the way but there is no walk in service close by, which is unhelpful.

Ring 111 and they will make an appointment to come to a clinic, It does take some time waiting but always felt like the service is helpful and staff are great.

They were good, they told me that a doctor would call me back and within a few hours they did. They helped me and explained things to me and kept me updated.

Short staffed

March 21, 2023
Called and they said an ambulance would come get me and then they said the ambulance was not coming. I think they were short staffed.

Wife had chest pains and they called an ambulance and they took her to hospital. They said it was just stress, but it was a good service.

Took a while to answer and get info

March 15, 2023
I had to wait over an hour to speak to someone about an allergic reaction. They advised me to go the Queen Elizabeth hospital so I did. But it took a while for them to direct me to the right service.

I was having chest pains and I called 111 for advice because I didn’t know whether it was anxiety or heart attack. They told me to call an ambulance and go to hospital.

An hour wait

March 9, 2023
An hour wait for 5 years old daughter, so ended up putting the phone down. Had used it previously and they arranged a call back.

Referred to GP the same day

March 9, 2023
My son had chest pains and when I explained the symptoms to them, they advised me to make a GP appointment, who I couldn't get through to. They then put me on hold and told me they'd made him an appointment for that same day. They were very helpful but why can't it be that easy when I'm trying to make an appointment.

NHS 111

NHS 111 is much more than a helpline – if you're worried about an urgent medical concern, you can call 111 to speak to a fully trained adviser.

Depending on the situation, the NHS 111 team can connect you to a nurse, emergency dentist or even a GP, and can arrange face-to-face appointments if they think you need one.

NHS 111 advisers can also assess if you need an ambulance and send one immediately if necessary.
